Emma will be at the MTV Movie Awards next month to receive the Trailblazer Award.

BWWmoviesworld

MTV today announced that British acting sensation Emma Watson will receive the second annual “MTV Trailblazer Award” LIVE during the “2013 MTV Movie Awards” on Sunday, April 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Sony Pictures Studios Lot in Culver City, CA. The Trailblazer award honors best in class young actors who are actively carving out their own unique and diverse path in the film industry.

After casting a spell on audiences with her Epic role as Hermione in the Harry Potter series to her most recent critically acclaimed role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower – which garnered her three nominations this year for “Best Female Performance,” “Best Kiss” and “Best Musical Moment” – Watson has established herself as one of the most riveting young actors today and is set to continue showcasing her talent in “The Bling Ring” written and directed by Sofia Coppola. In addition, she will star in Darren Aronofsky’s highly anticipated release “Noah,” re-teaming her with “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” co-star Logan Lerman as well as Russell Crowe.

“Emma Watson endeared herself to fans as one of the most beloved and iconic characters of her generation and did so again this past year as she seamlessly transformed into the role of ‘Sam’ from yet another modern day classic in The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” said Stephen Friedman, President of MTV. “She’s been a constant presence in the lives of our audience for more than a decade and is continuing to challenge her craft with upcoming roles as radically diverse as her enormous talent.”

Vogue

EMMA WATSON has been inducted into Madame Tussauds today. The Vogue cover girl and actress wears a black Elie Saab dress with a cut-out back.

“Emma has been one of the most requested wax figurines for a while now, along with One Direction,” said Madame Tussauds spokesperson Nicole Fenner. “People really want to see her as she is now. Since Harry Potter, her popularity has increased on an international scale. We have people from all over the world asking for her. Interest in her is only going to escalate.”

The wax figurine took four months to make, as sculptor Alex Carlisle meticulously aimed to recreate Watson’s true likeness. A research team provided a mixture of red carpet shots, front and back, as well as recent film stills to help capture her exact proportions. The sculptor was then given a brief with what the figurine should be wearing and what pose. The Elie Saab dress was chosen because it was thought to best encapsulate the star’s “playful and fun” nature.

“The biggest challenge is recreating her expression, that sparkle,” said Carlisle. “It was important to have her looking beautiful. She has a lovely feel to her, so we had to find the right references. She has to be the correct size and height for it to look authentic.”

Broadway World

Internationally recognized HARRY POTTER franchise star Emma Watson has her eye on the title role in director Kenneth Branagh’s new live-action feature film adaptation of CINDERELLA and Disney is in early talks with her to star in the soon-to-be-shot fairy tale.

In an earlier, but equally delicious casting coup, Branagh secured the services of Academy Award-winning stage and screen star Cate Blanchett to take on the role of the Wicked Stepmother. Watson’s casting as the put-upon daughter/servant in the classic children’s story could prove quite genius opposite Blanchett given their disparate onscreen auras.

Watson previously appeared in this year’s well-received THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER and has roles in two anticipated films later this year, as well: Sofia Coppola’s THE BLING RING and Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic NOAH.

Also, Watson has expressed an interest in pursuing a stage or screen musical in the near future, as well as a Broadway bow following a pleasant experience performing in Chekov’s THREE SISTERS while attending Brown University, as reported here.

The script for CINDERELLA was penned by Chris Weitz and Aline Brosh McKenna. No confirmation on Watson’s casting has been confirmed.

Watson and Branagh previously co-starred in MY WEEK WITH MARILYN, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for his uncanny portrayal of Laurence Olivier.
