Good news for fans that want to hear Emma’s singing voice-possibly. Emma tweeted that she loved soloist Olafur Arnalds music. The next day he tweeted that he met her for lunch and revealed to the local paper that a possible collaboration is in the works!
Iceland Review’s article:
British actress Emma Watson, famous for her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter movies, is currently in Iceland to shoot scenes for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, along with Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly, among others.
Watson has actively reported on her experiences in Iceland via Twitter and recently declared her love for Icelandic music, the hipster band Of Monsters and Men and soloists Ólafur Arnalds and Sóley.
A few days after her tweet, Watson and Ólafur had dinner together where they discussed possible collaboration. Ólafur told RÚV that some things may be in the pipelines but plans are at a sensitive stage and so he would not comment on any details.
According to visir.is, Watson is staying at the 101 Hotel in downtown Reykjavík. The actress has been enjoying city life, it seems, going to the cinema and exploring the nightlife, tweeting: “Icelandic clubs are like mosh pits! I’m going back with an icelandic dance ARMY!!! Haha.”
Earlier this week, the film crew of Noah was given permission to limit traffic on the road Þrengslavegur, connecting Reykjavík and Þorlákshöfn, while they were filming in and around the cave Raufarhólshellir, where a huge set had been made, ruv.is reports. Update: We looked up past collaborations he has done in the past. Some we with musicians and some are with his fanbase. This article gives insight to one artistic video he made using a fans artwork.
One of the interviewee, the Islandic musician Olafur Arnalds, grabbed my attention with his unique approach to his relationship with his audience:
‘One of my main purpose in doing music is to inspire people in any way possible, and one way of inspiring someone is if they feel like creating art. I thought what should this always be one way? I make music and people listen to it and I got sent a lot of Art back. All the time people send me videos, music videos for the songs, they make a painting or take photos… (…) [I thought] we could also work on this in both directions, why can’t the fans also inspired me? And we can work together and make interesting collaborations, a huge collaboration with a lot of people.’
